This tour is designed for anyone and everyone. For photographers, we’ll take you to the very best spots to catch that perfect image, for historians we’ll take you on a journey through the history of our “Sceptr’d Isle. If Literature and the arts are your thing, we’ll take you to Stratford, birthplace of Shakespeare. Maybe you are a Film fan and want to see where they filmed ‘Downton Abbey’. You can tour antique shops, focus on ‘out of the way’ villages and historic churches, or hear folk tales.
England is steeped in history and this exciting tour will allow you to find out about many of the events that shaped our magnificent country from right here in the Cotswolds. We’ll visit Blenheim Palace, Rollright Stones, and Chedworth Roman Villa to start the day. After this busy morning we’ll take you for lunch at a 16th century inn and then it’s off through the Cotswold hills to Gloucester Cathedral. This is a day to remember for any lover of English history.
Despite worldwide popularity, The Cotswolds are still full of nooks, crannies and secret escapes that only genuine locals know about. We know the area as well as anyone. Of course we keep our secrets to ourselves but here are a few hints to wet your appetite; as you stroll down Broadway High street maybe you’d like to see ‘Kennel Lane’ and meet the fox hounds or perhaps you’d like to walk across a local farmer’s private farm or maybe you’d like to see Medieval wall paintings in an ancient Church
What better way to burn off the kid’s energy than by running around in the lush green Cotswold landscape? The day will begin with a trip to the ‘Rollright Stones’, then head off to Minster Lovell, to explore the ruins of a medieval nobleman’s castle. We’ll take in lunch at a riverside inn before heading to the ‘Cotswold Wildlife Park’, or to the ‘Cotswold Farm Park’. It’s also possible to include sites connected to The Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia and Harry Potter.
